April Showers, Bring May Flowers!

By April, spring has finally sprung, and if we’re lucky, the weather will reflect that! Spring flowers have started to bloom, the days are getting longer, and winter's chill is fading away. We hope that your sky is bright and clear and your grass is growing green. As we embrace the beauty of nature's renewal, let's also renew our commitment to creativity and imagination. April is a time of transformation, both in the world around us and in our classrooms. So let's sow the seeds of artistic inspiration and watch them bloom into beautiful works of art. Whether you're painting with passion, dancing with joy, or singing with spirit, let's make this April a month to remember with ArtsAround!

Active April

As the flowers bloom and the sun shines, it's the perfect time to get moving and embrace the outdoors. Whether you're dancing in the classroom or taking your lessons outside, let's make this month a celebration of activity and fun. Don't worry; we won't make you run a marathon (unless you really want to!). Let's enjoy the sunshine, stretch those legs, and have an active, awesome April!

The 2024 Total Solar Eclipse: April 8th

Ever wonder why the sun takes a quick break from shining? It's not a vacation—it's a solar eclipse! Imagine the sun playing a game of peek-a-boo with the moon, casting a shadow on Earth for a cosmic surprise. It's nature's way of saying, 'Let's dim the lights and have a celestial show!' So grab your solar glasses, tilt your head to the sky, and enjoy the ultimate game of hide-and-seek between the sun and the moon! Read our Introduction to the 2024 Solar Eclipse for local information and local eclipse times. Happy Viewing!

That Bee Bold

“Good morning!” said the busy bee.
I bowed to him and he bowed to me.
“I’d like to shake your hand!” said he –
But before he could I turned to flee!
I was rude perhaps, but won’t you agree
It would have been sad to shake hands
with a bee!

Earth Day 2024: Planet vs. Plastics

Happy Earth Day, fellow planet pals! This month, we celebrate our incredible planet and all the quirky critters that call it home (yes, even the ones that give us the heebie-jeebies). It's like our planet's birthday—except instead of blowing out candles, we're blowing kisses to Mother Earth! So, let's give her some extra love, like picking up litter (not your neighbor's socks, though) and planting trees (bonus points if you can teach them to dance). Remember, every day can be Earth Day if we treat our planet like the rock star it is!

This years' theme Planet vs. Plastics unites students, parents, businesses, governments, churches, unions, individuals, and NGOs in an unwavering commitment to call for the end of plastics for the sake of human and planetary health, demanding a 60% reduction in the production of plastics by 2040 and an ultimate goal of building a plastic-free future for generations to come.
