June, June, oh Happy June!

Did You Know!?! No other month in the year begins on the same day of the week as June! The month of June brings beautiful bouquets, delicious fruits and vegetables, and an urge to get out there and enjoy the sunshine. Spend time outdoors, and countdown the days – Summer is really starting to get into full swing! Every day lasts just that little bit longer, making breezy summer evenings a real treat.

Congratulations AITs. . . You Did It!

You made it (soon) to the end of the year that beats ALL previous years. For some of you, you basically survived, and for others you actually (once you got into the groove) thrived. Your resiliency was tested at many levels. Either way – you got to the finish line! What an unusual, demanding year it was. But the good news – it is behind us. The world will never be the same, education will never be the same, your outlook on life will never be the same, BUT please GOD we got the message!

FINALLY, you are in the final month of a VERY distressing year. I invite all of you to stand up, take your Superhero stance, and take a selfie. Better yet, do so with your class, to celebrate this milestone that indicates WE DID IT! Even virtually, teachers can capture a shot of their kids in their Superhero stance! That is a treasure to keep. Years later when you tell your own children about this, you have this photo memory to recall 2020-2021 and all the conflicts that occurred. This is when your ‘newly found drama skills’ came into play. Storytelling will be the forefront of this family gathering, many years later. To date, one of the greatest historical events in the history of this decade is alive and well, still active and effecting people worldwide: Sadly! TOGETHER!

If there is any summer you need to chill, relax, and practice any wellness activities you know, it is THIS summer. Be gentle and kind to yourself, and find reasons to celebrate you, your family, and friends. This is when adults need to honour their own social-emotional skills, practice mindfulness, and meditation, and take long walks to enjoy nature such as: wooded trails, beaches, waterways, backyards, mountains, dotted with a quick stop to enjoy a beverage that feeds your soul 😊 You got the idea!

THANK YOU all of you who stayed in classrooms (when you could) and to those who were routed to “be virtual pioneers in a system that was not ready” to handle a crisis. You are ALL warriors, and your ArtsAround Team has nothing to offer other than GRATITUDE! Enjoy your summer. There has never been a group of educators who deserve REST, more than you! You’ll find we provided a countdown below…as if you need it 😊

Happy Summer to Everyone!

Share the love of Dance

What a great way to end the school year – dance it out! Please support this worthwhile cause from Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS). Get them dancing – even at home – and  provide kids who enjoy dance to shine. Don’t forget to invite parents to ‘get moving ‘too! A great way to build a strong sense of community! Celebrate, celebrate – dance to the music!

“Far up in the deep blue sky,
Great white clouds are floating by;
All the world is dressed in green;
Many happy birds are seen,
Roses bright and sunshine clear
Show that lovely June is here”
